Anne McIntyre FNIMH MAPA Medical Herbalist, Ayurvedic Practitioner
Gina Mastroluca BA, Board Certified Polarity Practitioner, Founder Moksha Mind Body Health
The Foundations of Ayurveda Course was created from collaboration between Anne McIntyre, Ayurvedic practitioner, author and well-known English herbalist, and Gina Mastroluca, Ayurvedic educator, author and Polarity therapist. Ayurveda has been life-affirming and life-changing for both of us and provides continual topics of conversation and study as we seek to understand and ponder the great mysteries of health and being alive. We have been deeply inspired to apply this healing wisdom into our own lives over the last 20-30 years. We have also witnessed many great transformations as our patients/clients have integrated the healing wisdom of Ayurveda into their lives. The profound view of Ayurveda inspires us to take care of ourselves, see ourselves in a larger context that includes all living beings, the plants, elements and the entire cosmos, and gives us the framework and tools to transform and sustain our health on a daily basis.
Anne brings over 30 years of clinical practice as a medical herbalist and Ayurvedic practitioner in the United Kingdom and offers a comprehensive knowledge of herbal medicine. She provides an authentic bridge, bringing the wisdom of the East to the West. She has written around 20 books on Herbal Medicine and Ayurveda and brings the confidence and depth of experience of a longtime practitioner and teacher.
Gina has been greatly inspired by Anne and her teaching of herbal medicine and Ayurveda. Gina and Anne began to collaborate together after meeting at one of Anne’s classes at Avena Botanicals in Maine. They quickly became close friends and over the last 10 years have developed and offered a series of retreat-style workshops that explore the Ayurvedic teachings of the mind and spirit called Calm Mind, Joyful Heart.
Gina creates a nurturing space for individuals and groups to get to know themselves more deeply, to heal, and to be inspired on a path of conscious self-care. With over 20 years of consulting with individuals, teaching and writing, Gina’s approach is grounded in path of meditation, ayurvedic self-care, and the ongoing joy of learning all the while being immersed in the gorgeous landscape of coastal Maine. Gina is a Polarity Therapy practitioner integrating Ayurveda, Aromatherapy, yoga and mindfulness meditation in her work. She has trained for over 20 years on a Buddhist path of meditation and offers the emphasis on meditation as a way to integrate Ayurvedic learning and as a practice to cultivate our full potential. She directs Moksha Center in Portland, Maine, a source of education, collaboration and inspiration for mind/body health and living in balance with our world.
